Completing the Circle

Saturday, July 25, 2020 – Savanna Portage State Park, MN to Home

Once again, I woke up early (why should the last day of the trip be any different?). As I emerged from the tent it was humid, cloudy, and it looked like rain. Sometimes I hate it when I’m right. I quickly put some coffee on then started breaking camp. I should have bypassed the coffee, because it started to rain before I could get the tent down. It wasn’t a big deal – after five set-up and tear-downs of camp on the trip, one more set up in the parking garage at home to dry out wasn’t a problem.

The drive from Savanna Portage to Milwaukee wasn’t bad. We took it easy and even took a slight detour to check out Lake Wissota State Park for a future weekend camping trip. We completed the circle ending up back in Milwaukee relaxed and recharged after 2,400 miles and nine nights in the tent, and, as usual, talking about the next adventure. Where are we going now?
