Sunday, December 25, 2016 – Glendale, Utah and Bryce Canyon National Park
Christmas morning brought a white winter wonderland. We ended up with a total of 14 inches of snow from the storm. We made a pot of coffee and built a fire in the fireplace to enjoy Christmas morning. We brought stockings which had been filled overnight and had a handful of small Christmas presents which we opened in front of the fire.

Despite it being Christmas, the plow and salt trucks were out and the highway in front of our cabin was clear. After staying in all day on Saturday we were ready to go take in some more beautiful Utah scenery. But first, we had to get the car out. The highway was clear, but the driveway had 14 inches of snow on it. I parked the car close to the end of the driveway, but Aaron and I ended up wishing I had parked it closer. Eventually we dug a path to the highway so we could get the car out and we hit the road to check out Bryce Canyon.

All the way to Bryce the views were incredible. Fresh white snow blanketed the mountains and as the day wore on clouds gave way to a stunning blue sky. We drove through Red Canyon along the way and were rewarded with beautiful views of the red canyon walls, evergreen trees sprinkled with delicate white snow, and all framed against the blue sky.

Bryce Canyon National Park was open, but only the first three miles of road into the park were clear. That was enough to take in some incredible sights. The trails were too snowy for hiking, but we stopped at every overlook we could get to and enjoyed the views of the snow-blanketed canyon.

Back at the cabin for the evening we played some card games, watched a movie, and Chrissy made a Christmas roast for dinner. A nice end to a relaxing and beautiful Christmas Day.
Now, that’s a memorable Christmas. Great pictures. Great luck to catch a snowstorm.
